Is IV Therapy at ALGM Right for You?

Five questions we get asked most before a first IV therapy visit.

I have never had IV therapy. Which formula should I start with?

Start with what fits your current goal. For low energy or beating a hangover, Reboot or Get-Up-and-Go. For boosting your immune system before travel or during cold season, Immunity. For glowing skin and hair, Inner Beauty. For weight-loss support paired with diet changes, B-Lean. We ask what you are trying to address in the consult and recommend the formula that matches, instead of upselling everything at once.

IV Push vs IV Drip. What is the difference and which one is right for me?

An IV Push delivers nutrients in 15 to 30 minutes via a small syringe, fast and targeted. An IV Drip infuses over 30 to 60 minutes via a slower hanging-bag drip. Drip works better for hydration formulas and high-volume vitamin protocols because the body absorbs them more steadily. Push works better when you want a quick energy or vitamin hit and need to be in and out. We pick the method based on the formula and your schedule.

Will I actually feel the effects? How soon?

Most patients feel a noticeable lift the same day, especially with energy-focused formulas like Get-Up-and-Go or Reboot. Hydration formulas often clear a hangover or post-workout fog within hours. For longer-term goals like skin glow (Inner Beauty) or weight-loss support (B-Lean), the effect builds over a series. We are honest in the consult about what to expect on day one vs after three or four sessions.

Is IV therapy safe? Are there contraindications I should worry about?

Yes when delivered by licensed providers. Most healthy adults tolerate IV therapy well, with minor risks like mild bruising at the needle site. It is not suitable for patients under 12, anyone weighing under 100 pounds, or patients with active kidney or heart conditions. If you have any chronic condition or take prescription medications, mention them in the consult and Dr. Fobi reviews compatibility before any infusion starts.

How often should I come in and how is pricing structured?

For one-off needs (hangover recovery, pre-travel immunity), one session is enough. For ongoing wellness or skin and hair goals, most patients come in every two to four weeks. Pricing is per session and varies by formula (B12 injection is the lowest, comprehensive drips are higher). We give you the exact per-formula price in the consult and discuss whether a package makes sense for your usage pattern. CareCredit financing is available.

What Is IV Therapy?

IV therapy administers fluids, nutrients, and medication directly into the vein using sterile needles and medical tubing. This process ensures that 100% of the nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream by bypassing the digestive system.

Intravenous therapy has been used for years to treat various conditions and deliver medications. Dr. Thomas Latta pioneered intravascular technology in the nineteenth century. Recently, dermatologists have adapted it to enhance skin health, boost hydration, and promote a glowing complexion.

What Are the Benefits of IV Therapies?

IV therapy has become popular in California due to its numerous benefits:

  • 100% Nutrient Absorption: By bypassing the digestive system, IV therapy ensures complete nutrient absorption into the bloodstream, delivering faster and more effective results.
  • Targeted Nutrients: IV therapy allows for the direct delivery of essential vitamins like B12, C, and B complex, addressing specific issues like skin dryness, hair fall, and acne.
  • Quick and Effective Results: IV-injected nutrients enter the bloodstream directly, providing faster benefits and aiding quicker recovery.
  • A Non-Surgical Method: This non-surgical procedure involves only a sterile needle, allowing patients to resume normal activities the same day.
